At Baystate Dental, we will happily spend time with you to discuss how we can improve your smile through cosmetic dentistry or general dentistry procedures. We view the dental consultation as one of the most important steps in making sure you are fully comfortable with our plan of action as well as the abilities of our dental team.
This is a time for us to get to know you and what you would like from us. It is also a time for you to get to know our practice by meeting our team members and touring our office. Consultations are given by one of our cosmetic dentists so that they can say hello and answer any questions you may have. Please expect to spend one hour here for your consultation.
We offer two types of consultations, depending on your dental needs.
Cosmetic Dentistry Consultations
During your cosmetic dentistry consultation, we will do a wax-up (mock up) using computer imaging photos of how your teeth could be improved by certain cosmetic dental procedures. You will leave our office with a written plan to take home and share with your loved ones. This is a complimentary service we provide for all prospective patients.
Comprehensive Dental Consultations
The comprehensive dental consultation includes everything mentioned in the cosmetic dentistry consultation with the addition of a full dental exam and X-rays. There is a fee for the exam and X-ray portion of this consultation.
During both types of consultations, we encourage you to be open and honest about what is bothersome in your smile and how you would like to see it improved. There are usually many options available to achieve any given dental goal, and we will provide you with a comprehensive outline of the advantages and disadvantages of each option.
We also use Before and After books that show other patients who have had the procedures you are considering. This can give you a good idea of how your smile might be improved.
