Another
high-tech feature now available is the ability to project
an image of your tooth and/or mouth to a television screen
or monitor. This enables us to point out defects on your tooth
or in your mouth, and helps explain our recommended treatment.
The
patient can actually see the problem and understand the treatment
needed.
The
hygienist or doctor will scan your mouth with a tiny camera,
about the size of a dental drill, that picks up the image
of each tooth. The image is tracked on a monitor and allows
us to freeze frame particular areas of interest.
The
patient and the doctor can now look at an image together,
answer questions about treatment, and discuss different options.
This information can also be printed for your convenience
and stored for our medical and legal needs. It can also be
provided for insurance companies to help prompt insurance
reimbursement, reducing some of your costs. |
